Analytic solutions for coupled linear perturbations

چکیده
Analytic solutions for the evolution of cosmological linear density perturbations in the baryonic gas and collisionless dark matter are derived. The solutions are expressed in a closed form in terms of elementary functions, for arbitrary baryonic mass fraction. They are obtained assuming Ω = 1 and a time independent comoving Jeans wavenumber, kJ . By working with a time variable τ ≡ ln(t), the evolution of the perturbations is described by linear differential equations with constant coefficients. The new equations are then solved by means of Laplace transformation assuming that the gas and dark matter trace the same density field before a sudden heating epoch. In a dark matter dominated Universe, the ratio of baryonic to dark matter density perturbation decays with time roughly like exp(−5τ/4) ∝ t to the limiting value 1/[1 + (k/kJ)2]. For wavenumbers k > kJ/ √ 24, the decay is accompanied with oscillations of a period 8π/ √ 24(k/kJ) − 1 in τ . In comparison, as τ increases in a baryonic matter dominated Universe, the ratio approaches 1− (k/kJ ) for k ≤ kJ , and zero otherwise.

Basic results on distributed order fractional hybrid differential equations with linear perturbations
In this article, we develop the distributed order fractional hybrid differential equations (DOFHDEs) with linear perturbations involving the fractional Riemann-Liouville derivative of order $0 < q < 1$ with respect to a nonnegative density function. Furthermore, an existence theorem for the fractional hybrid differential equations of distributed order is proved under the mixed $varphi$-Lipschit...
متن کاملAnalytic perturbations and systematic bias in statistical modeling and inference
Abstract: In this paper we provide a comprehensive study of statistical inference in linear and allied models which exhibit some analytic perturbations in their design and covariance matrices. We also indicate a few potential applications. In the theory of perturbations of linear operators it has been known for a long time that the so-called “singular perturbations” can have a big impact on sol...
متن کاملAnalytic Description of DGP Perturbations on All Scales
We develop analytic solutions for the linear evolution of metric perturbations in the DGP braneworld modified gravity scenario including near-horizon and superhorizon modes where solutions in the bulk are required. These solutions apply to both the self-accelerating and normal branch and elucidate the nature of coordinate singularities and initial data in the bulk as well as their effect on per...
متن کاملGravitational Perturbations of a Six Dimensional Self-Tuning Model
We investigate gravitational perturbations in a compact six-dimensional self-tuning brane model. We specifically look for analytic solutions to the perturbed Einstein equations that correspond in four-dimensions to massless or approximately massless scalars coupled to matter on the brane. The presence of such modes with gravitational couplings would be phenomenologically unacceptable. The most ...
متن کاملAnalytic Solution for Hypersonic Flow Past a Slender Elliptic Cone Using Second-Order Perturbation Approximations
An approximate analytical solution is obtained for hypersonic flow past a slender elliptic cone using second-order perturbation techniques in spherical coordinate systems. The analysis is based on perturbations of hypersonic flow past a circular cone aligned with the free stream, the perturbations stemming from the small cross-section eccentricity. By means of hypersonic approximations for the ...
